Immediate opening: garment machinist (Alaska)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a garment machinist in North Slope Borough, Alaska. You will work on an export house sewing floor. The role involves sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes. Ideal candidate: • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. $4,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
