Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Calhoun County, Michigan. The job is on a busy housing site. The role involves: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge You should have: • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
