Bricklayer — Jackson County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a bricklayer in Jackson County, North Carolina. The job is on a scaffolded high-rise site. Day-to-day duties: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings Ideal candidate: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. We offer $19 per hour plus benefits. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
