Die-casting operator • Dundee City, Scotland

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Dundee City, Scotland. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. £2,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
