Foundry worker • Isle of Wight County, Virginia

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry worker in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. Your main tasks: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry 5+ years on the tools preferred. $200 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
