Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Vermilion County, Illinois. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day Day to day you will cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
