Safety officer — Jersey County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a safety officer in Jersey County, Illinois. The job is at an oil and gas facility. Requirements: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations The role involves inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates. 5+ years on the tools preferred.
