Urgent requirement: restoration bricklayer (Iowa)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in Des Moines County, Iowa. The job is at a groundworks and structures site. Day to day you will pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb. Ideal candidate: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks 1+ years on the tools preferred.
