Crane operator — Borough of Wigan

Now hiring: we are hiring a crane operator in Borough of Wigan, England. You will be based on an earthmoving and excavation site. Day to day you will backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations; work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals; top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects; stockpile and spread material to the required levels; operate the boom, stick and bucket to dig, lift and place material; excavate trenches and foundations to the marked depths and grade levels. Requirements: • Understanding of safe digging near underground services • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
