Brickwork mason — Jefferson County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Jefferson County, Washington. You will work at a renovation and extension job. Ideal candidate: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) On the job you will handle: • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
