On a typical shift you will check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training Rotating shifts.
