Blocklayer — Wabash County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a blocklayer in Wabash County, Illinois. Day to day you will building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish. Requirements: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Rotating shifts.
