Vacancy available: we are hiring a sample machinist in Deaf Smith County, Texas. Ideal candidate: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus On the job you will handle: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $4,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
