Argon welding operator — West Lothian

Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welding operator in West Lothian, Scotland. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Your main tasks: • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal Rotating shifts.
