Presser — Carter County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a presser in Carter County, Tennessee. Requirements: • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings On the job you will handle: • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
