Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Taliaferro County, Georgia. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Your main tasks: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Pay around $2,900 per month, based on your experience.
