Vacancy available: we are hiring a slinger signaller in Jackson County, Kansas. You will be based at a shipyard. Requirements: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles You will fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads. 6+ years on the tools preferred.
