You will strip old shingles and felt back down to the deck; erect and dismantle roof edge protection and scaffolding; set out battens to the correct gauge and spacing; lay underlayment and tar paper before tiling; torch on bitumen membrane across flat roofs; seal joints and penetrations with mastic and lead flashing. You should have: • Able to read roof pitch and set the falls • Working-at-height or scaffold safety certificate • A good head for heights and steady balance Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
