Now hiring: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Louisa County, Iowa. You will work on a scaffolded high-rise site. Ideal candidate: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks The role involves forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel.
