Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Union County, Oregon. You will work on the moulding line. Day to day you will maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards 3+ years on the tools preferred. Pay around $7,250 per project, based on your experience. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
