Pipe TIG welder • Wibaux County, Montana

We are recruiting: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Wibaux County, Montana. You will be based on a structural steel site. What we are looking for: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection The role involves: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush Pay around $3,500 per month, based on your experience.
