The role involves clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc. Ideal candidate: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
