You should have: • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety The role involves change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; control distortion with a balanced welding sequence.
