Gtaw welder — Kent County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Kent County, Michigan. You will be based at a precision engineering workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion You should have: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium Overtime paid at a premium rate.
