Immediate opening: MIG welder (Virginia)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a MIG welder in Halifax County, Virginia. Day-to-day duties: • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness Ideal candidate: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes Performance bonus on top of base pay. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
