Crawler crane operator — Cerro Gordo County

Now hiring: we are hiring a crawler crane operator in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. You will work at a shipbuilding yard. The role involves: • Park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Work out the load weight and the lifting radius • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure Ideal candidate: • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging 6+ years on the tools preferred. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
