Metal caster wanted in Lake and Peninsula Borough

Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in Lake and Peninsula Borough, Alaska. The role involves: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection We offer $2,900 per month plus benefits.
