Join our team: general labourer (New York)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a general labourer in Chemung County, New York. You will work on a commercial building project. Day to day you will fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns; backfill and ram down soil around the foundations; mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer; pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator; break out old walls and concrete with a jackhammer breaker; erect and dismantle scaffolding and pass materials up. What we are looking for: • Prior experience as a labourer on building or civil sites • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker Overtime paid at a premium rate.
