Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Camden County, New Jersey. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection The role involves cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges.
