Join our team: we are hiring a tower crane operator in Appanoose County, Iowa. You will be based at a shipbuilding yard. You will fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure; keep every lift within the safe working load (SWL); watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity; follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger; work out the load weight and the lifting radius; hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control. What we are looking for: • Able to read load charts and lifting plans • Strong attention to safety and load limits • A good head for heights for tower crane work Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
