Laundry presser — City of Hopewell

We are recruiting: we are hiring a laundry presser in City of Hopewell, Virginia. You will be based at a textile finishing unit. The role involves spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine 3+ years on the tools preferred. Rotating shifts.
