Garment machinist — Madison County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a garment machinist in Madison County, Iowa. You should have: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching On a typical shift you will sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet.
