Foundry operative — Rock Island County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Rock Island County, Illinois. Your main tasks: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Pay around $4,200 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
