Now hiring: we are hiring a bricklayer in Swain County, North Carolina. You will work on a busy housing site. The role involves: • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser You should have: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
