The role involves check for underground cables and services before digging; level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines; load and unload the machine on and off the low-loader safely; read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles; break rock and concrete with the hydraulic breaker attachment; carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension. Ideal candidate: • Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating earthmoving machinery • Understanding of safe digging near underground services Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
