Steel fixing chargehand — Republic County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Republic County, Kansas. You will be based on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. What we are looking for: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations On a typical shift you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat. At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. $28 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
