Vacancy available: we are hiring a plant operator in Roberts County, South Dakota. What we are looking for: • Valid heavy equipment / plant operator licence • Understanding of safe digging near underground services • Knowledge of pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance The role involves read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles; carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension; top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects; backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations; level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines. Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $130 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Rotating shifts.
