The role involves update the risk register and method statements (RAMS); carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date.
