Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. You will be based at a high-rise construction project. The role involves: • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length Requirements: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
