Sand plant operator — Evangeline Parish

Join our team: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
