Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in Crawford County, Georgia. The job is at a busy iron foundry. What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling On the job you will handle: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Six days a week, one day off.
