We are recruiting: we are hiring a machinist in Steele County, North Dakota. You will work at a knitwear stitching unit. Ideal candidate: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Your main tasks: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
