Occupational health and safety officer — Makurdi Local Government Area

We are recruiting: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Makurdi Local Government Area, Benue State. You will work in a chemical processing unit. What we are looking for: • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised OHS certificate • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations Day to day you will check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site.
