Semi-automatic welder • Montgomery County, Illinois

Immediate opening: we are hiring a semi-automatic welder in Montgomery County, Illinois. You will be based at an automobile body shop. On a typical shift you will maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose; weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; grind back and re-weld any defective runs; control distortion with a balanced welding sequence. You should have: • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding Full-time with occasional weekends.
