Now hiring: we are hiring a garment machinist in Herkimer County, New York. You will work on an export house sewing floor. Requirements: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance On the job you will handle: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers 2+ years on the tools preferred.
