You should have: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Confident with standard crane hand signals Day-to-day duties: • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
