Machinist wanted in East Sussex

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a machinist in East Sussex, England. You will work on a ready-made garment production line. The role involves inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required. Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching Part-time with flexible hours.
