Immediate opening: garment machinist (England)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Medway, England. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. Day-to-day duties: • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet Ideal candidate: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. £120 per day, negotiable for the right hands. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
