Immediate opening: we are hiring an aluminium tig welder in City of Suffolk, Virginia. You will work on an industrial construction site. You should have: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings The role involves clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run.
