GTAW welder wanted in Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area, Alaska. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Day to day you will clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec. You should have: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding Rotating shifts.
